About Fayetteville-Manlius:
Fayetteville-Manlius High School is part of the Fayetteville-Manlius School District in Manlius, New York. In this suburban area the typical P.E. class size is 27 students. Students are in grade levels 9-12 and have been using Polar heart rate monitors (HRMs), TriFIT600, TriFIT620, PE Manager software, and the Wellness Center for the last 5 years.
Core Activities:
Matt uses individual performance activities, team activities, adventure games, and personal fitness activities to teach physical education at his school.
Using Polar:
The school budget provided the funding for Fayetteville-Manlius High School to get Polar technology. Fayetteville-Manlius started using Polar with just HRMs in class and later built their P.E. program with other Polar products. Now students at Fayetteville-Manlius have an increased awareness of their fitness and wellness. For Matt, the most important reason to use Polar is to, "facilitate the teaching of health and wellness concepts to our students."
The Buzz:
Matt likes "teaching students how to access their own fitness and wellness scores."
Students "enjoy the immediate feedback."
Administration "likes the use of technology in our program."
