As funding for technology has enabled more innovation in today's schools, we've seen a large increase in the number of distance-learning and other non-traditional students. Today, students everywhere are able to complete tests, assignments and labs for core academic subjects, without ever stepping foot into a classroom.
At Polar, we listened when physical educators told us of their challenges fitting PE into a virtual curriculum. We designed a new solution which adds Physical Education class to the list of subjects that can be studied off school property. Using a Polar E600 downloadable heart rate monitor, distance-learning students can send exercise files to PolarPEPortal.com for teachers to view.

Teachers log in to see an overview of heart rate activity for all of their classes. PE Student Portal automatically flags which students downloaded heart rate data, and other students who still need to complete assignments. With the click of a button, physical educators can send individual reminders for certain students, or class reminders to set a deadline for downloading.

Students log in and receive reminders on their home page, showing up as a “to do” list. The PE Student Portal instructs students how to download their heart rate monitors to receive credit for the physical activities they’ve completed.

Once students download their files, teachers can log in and construct detailed class and individual reports. For more examples of reports you can generate with PE Student Portal, please call 800.290.6330.

Teachers also have the ability to assign lessons, labs, and quizzes on specific activities for students to complete. Create your own lessons or import lessons that other teachers have shared in the Lessons Library.
