Burnt Hills High School carries grades 9-12. Being a school in New York, students are required to take
Physical Education each year. Burnt Hills High School purchased the TriFIT
600 system in July 1997 and have successfully integrated the system in
to a number of different curriculums. Plans/curriculums are currently
being drawn up to introduce the TriFIT System into other courses over
the next year or so. Those courses being check-marked for TriFIT inclusion
include Physiology and Sports Medicine (tentatively).
Currently the TriFIT system is being used both in Health and Physical Education. Since they
schedule in blocks, the Health class is 82 minutes long and includes Labs
which take advantage of the TriFIT system.
Each student in Health is required to complete each of the TriFIT Health Risk Appraisal Questionnaires.
These include, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer, Nutrition, Depression,
Stress, Safety and Prevention. The student enters his/her own response
to each of the questions.
In the Physical Education classes, students enter information for the Mile Run, Sit-ups, Pull-ups,
Push-ups, Strength, Flexibility, Blood Pressure, Height, Weight and Body
Composition. All info is accumulated in PE and entered in the student's
Health class.
At the time the student graduates, he/she will be required to have developed a personal Wellness
Plan. A requirement of 45 minutes on the TriFIT System per student will
be initiated in the upcoming school year. At the time the student graduates,
the student will be given his/her full Personal Profile Report and Trend
Report for his/her Freshmen through Senior year.
